We have currently suspended falconry as part of our country
This is because on 6 December 2016 Defra, the Scottish Government and the Welsh Government have announced Avian Influenza Prevention Zones to help protect poultry and other gamebirds from a highly pathogenic strain of avian flu present in Europe. The zones cover the whole of England, Scotland and Wales and will remain in place for 30 days (until 6 January). Therefore, Bernard the Owl and his friends will be kept safe indoors as a precautionary measure as advised by Defra. Country pursuits such as archery and clay pigeon shooting are still available for your enjoyment.
It is easy to picture Stapleford Park's glorious estate in centuries past; house guests striding out for the hunt or game shooting. Today the more sedate country pursuits of archery, falconry and clay pigeon shooting are available for our house guests to enjoy, enveloped by 500 acres of some of Lancelot Brown's finest landscape.
We have an experienced team at Stapleford Park to guide you in your chosen country pursuits, so you're always in safe hands. There's plenty to keep all age groups busy too; the ‘Falconer's Walk’ is a particular favourite with our younger house guests and members.
Our country pursuits are extremely popular and are provided by off-site suppliers. Please reserve your chosen activities in advance of your arrival. Reservations can be made direct with our reservations team on 01572 787019 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
As country pursuits are reserved especially for you, any cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment time will incur a 100% cancellation fee. Reservations made within 24 hours are payable at the time of booking.
