RUSSELL SAGE – THE GORING & STAPLEFORD PARK
Russell Sage, designer of the Stapleford Park public areas and the Lady Gretton bedroom was also commissioned by Jeremy Goring to convert the entire 5th floor of The Goring hotel into one giant suite. This suite has been named the Royal Suite and is where Kate Middleton spent the night before marrying Prince William.
Sage's design remains true to his previous work for The Goring Hotel and Stapleford Park in that it is contemporary with rich historical influences. Gainsborough silk is used on the walls – as can been seen in the Saloon and Harborough Room at Stapleford Park, as well as hand-painted wallpaper from Fromenthal.
