ABERDEEN BRUNEI SENIOR MASTERS 2009

Tuesday 17th March 2009 – Further to the launch of the Stapleford Park Golf Challenge in 2008, the two winners of the Grand Final held on 6th December, Martin Dodson and Phil Harvey, were whisked off to Brunei for a luxury VIP golf experience at the Aberdeen Brunei Senior Masters from 27th February to 1st March 2009.
Martin and Phil who are both from Leicestershire and members of Stapleford Park were delighted to have the chance to play alongside great golfing names, such as Sam Torrance, a former captain at Stapleford Park Golf Club, Bernard Gallacher and Sandy Lyle. The winners and their guests stayed at the luxurious Empire Hotel & Country Club, one of Asia’s leading golf resorts.
After playing in the Pro Am alongside Phil Harrison and Jerry Bruner, our winners also had the unique opportunity to caddy for Sandy Lyle in the first round of the tournament.
The Stapleford Park Golf Challenge consisted of three leagues: the top ten players from the Members League, 20 players from the Non Members League and four lucky draw winners from the Fun League.
The 18-hole championship level Donald Steel Golf Course at Stapleford Park was completed in 2001 with the estate providing the perfect backdrop for a round of golf.
